Raid rules

While we are an open and friendly Social community, we have a few basic rules that we expect our members to follow.
These apply to guild members and friends that join us.
The extra requirements for raiders are there to ensure a fair experience for all while making sure that we can make good progress.

  • Your main raiding character should be appropriately geared, gemmed and enchanted for the raid based on the current raid requirements.
  •  You must have Discord installed and be able to use a microphone. No Mic use raid chat if needed .
  • In terms of addons, you must have DBM or BigWigs and Weak Auras installed.
  • You must be able to stay the full duration of the raid.
  • You must be able to take constructive criticism and not argue with the raid leaders.
  • You must not have any other raiders blocked in-game or on Discord.
  • Voice activation is allowed unless this is a disturbance to the raid (for example, background noice).
  • Do not talk during Boss fight’s, only Raidleaders and people that asked to talk during Boss fights are allowed to talk , Don’t be shy to talk during trash clearing and break time.
  • You must bring food, flasks and potions to last the full raid duration. Preferably augment and vantus runes also. If you need help with this or are short one week, let us know and we’ll try and help you out.
  • You must be ok with occasional wipes, especially as we progress to harder content.
  • No random breaks or AFK. We will have a short break midway through the raid for +/- 10 min.
  • Pugging with any alts is completely fine across any difficulties provided it does not conflict time-wise with the main raid and provided it does not affect your main character’s attendance to those raids.
  • If you do decide to pug ahead with an alt, please do not ‘show off’ by linking achievements or gear you have got as a result. Treat others and the guild with respect
  • We expect you to bring the same character to each raid (i.e. your ‘main’). If you feel like you want to change ‘main’ character in the long term then please talk to an officers to work out a plan for transition that does not hinder the raid team. Only 1 time each Raid tier it’s possible to change char only if It’s possible for the raid setup.
  • We might sometimes bring in alts temporarily to aid in progression depending on the raid composition on a particular night, fight requirements and any short falls due to a lack of sign ups or cancellations in any given week.
  • In terms of bringing alts to the main raid, once we reach a level where we feel like earlier bosses are reasonably on ‘farm’, we will allow the use of one or two alts brought in just for fun on the easier bosses. There will be a limit as to how many can come and if we run into any problems, people will be required to switch back to their mains.
  • If a wipe is being called you will choose death as fast as possible so we can regroup and try again

Raider Benching / Sit out :

  • Sometimes to many people will sign and it can be that the scaling from the Raid will be to much so maybe we have to disappoint some people and have them to sit out.
  • The people that are benched that evening or raid week will have priority for next raid day / week.
  • Please contact the raid leader, guild master or an officer privately through a whisper if you have a problem that requires attention.
  • Please keep your main character unsaved for any raids we are progressing on. This is so that any unneeded loot drops can be shared around to the benefit of the raid group and so that we can work as a team to progress. Pugging on lower difficulties than we are progressing on is completely fine. Any questions on this or requests to deviate from this point should be taken up with the raid leader, office or guild master.

    Sign ups:

  • Due to time limitations this expansion we need to be stricter on start times, in effect this means:
    – We will not be summoning back and forth, sort out your tokens/flasks/pots/food etc. beforehand.
    – Be there on time, this means being at the raid entrance at 20.50. First pull is @ 21.00 whether you are there or not, e
xceptions if you notified the RL beforehand.

For this expansion Flames of the Phoenix has decided to build on our successes in previous expansions and again be a bit more serious and focused on raiding, especially at the start of every new expansion.

In short (Please read down below for the details):

  • Raider rank is obtained on invitation/nomination basis only. You can not “apply” for raider rank. You can express an interest in raiding to an officer, but that is NOT a guarantee you will get it.
  • Potential raiders are evaluated by the Raid Leaders and the Officer team while they are put Under Consideration for a time.
  • Raider rank evaluation will be based on: Gear, Ability, Availability, Attitude and Loyalty.
  • Potential new raiders can be nominated by the existing raider rank members (this includes officers that also have raider status) or express an interest themselves in becoming a raider to the officers.
  • The final decision on a promotion to raider rank remains with the Raid Leader and the officers.
  • Raids will focus on normal & heroic content, with normal raids taking a backseat as social raids later on after clearing them first, for more info you can look up the different text channels on Discord and don’t be shy to ask guild members , officers , raid leader and guildmaster for help.
